Emergency Communications Center
Responsibilities
The Fairlawn Emergency Communications Center is staffed by eight full-time Communications Specialists. Their work involves, but is not limited to:
  • Answering all emergency and non-emergency calls directed to the Police, Fire, Medic, and City Service Divisions
  • Appropriating by radio and/or phone the necessary safety and service personnel and equipment
  • Providing the caller with the information or referral required to satisfy the inquiry

The ultimate responsibility for the protection of a person's life, health, safety, and property usually commences with a phone call to a specialist in the Communications Center.

9-1-1 is for life threatening emergencies only; otherwise dial (330) 666-8871.
