The City of Akron, Water Distribution Division will be conducting a water main flushing program within the Fairlawn, Akron, Bath, and Montrose areas.
The Water Department will be flushing hydrants from 7:30AM TO 4:00PM on MONDAYS through FRIDAYS. We will continue to flush hydrants in the Northwest Akron and Fairlawn Areas and beginning on approximately, Wednesday August 14, 2024 the fire hydrant flushing crews will begin flushing hydrants in the Copley/Montrose Area.
The Fairlawn area is bounded approximately by:
City limits to the north
City limits to the south
City limits to the east
City limits to the west
The Copley/Montrose area is bounded approximately by:
Medina Rd to the north
Copley Rd to the south
Interstate 77 to the east
S. Medina Line Rd to the west
The Northwest Akron Area is bounded approximately by:
City Limits to the north
Mull Avenue to the south
Northampton Road to the east
City Limits to the west
Users are urged to check their cold water for discoloration prior to drawing water for cooking and for use in automatic washers and dishwashers. If discoloration is found, the user is advised to discontinue use until the water clears.
